Granston Cottage

2 Bedrooms sleeps 4

Book

Granston is a 200 year old farm cottage constructed using traditional local stone, lime mortar and rendering, now renovated to achieve four star rating with the national tourist board, having all the required facilities including full central heating and a wood-burning stove – a home from home at any time of the year. The cottage is near Abermawr Beach, the coastal path, Fishguard and St.Davids.

One of a pair of cottages on a single track lane through the tiny hamlet of Granston which consists of 5 properties including the lovely historic 12th century St. Catherines Church.

Fishguard, 5 miles away, has a range of amenities including a bank, post office, supermarket, filling station, chemist, doctor, vet and interesting independent shops. A Farmer’s Market is held every Saturday in the Town Hall. St. Davids with its ancient Cathedral and Bishops Palace is 15 miles to the southwest.

The ‘Puffin Shuttle’ minibus can be flagged down outside the cottage and provides a service to locations up and down the coastal path – allowing you to plan gentle or adventurous walks on sections of the path, walking back or returning by bus after a leisurely lunch at one of the pubs or restaurants to be found in the villages.

There are many places to eat – including ‘Something’s Cooking’ – the Welsh champion fish restaurant and takeaway at Letterston.
