Something to celebrate?

We did! Our 40th wedding anniversary! By using the four cottages we could have all our children and grandchildren to stay for the  week. A lovely service at Granston Church with a buffet party for family and friends. A very big thank you to our wonderful family, friends, Vicar Don MacGregor and Cottage Caterers for making it a very special day.

What would you like to celebrate?

Folly Farm and Vintage Funfair

Folly Farm offers a wonderful day out for all the family with a Farm Barn, outdoor adventure park, a Zoo with over 250 animals and Europe’s largest collection of indoor vintage fairground rides (which is huge fun for the children and all the ‘big kids’ like me!).

The Folly Farm web site gives you all the details and it is best to book tickets on line at

Flowers on the Coastal Path

At this time of year the Coastal path is full of flowers from the drifts of campion and yellow vanilla perfumed gorse to orchids. Around every corner there are views to take your breath away. If you have not visited this quiet unspoilt part of Wales you are missing a treat.

Barley Day parade

The Barley day parade in Cardigan dates back over 100 years. It is always held on the last Saturday of April in the town centre.

This year there were many horses ranging from the little feisty Shetland ponies to  the wonderful Shire horses and carriage horses. Following these was a large parade of vintage tractors followed by classic cars, buses and lorries. Well worth putting the date in your diary.

Cyclist and Walkers Welcome Award

Preswylfa House and Preswylfa Cottage both have Cyclist and Walkers Welcome Award approved by a Visit Wales Inspector.
We have a garage which is shared by the two properties for locking up larger items such as bicycles and surf boards as well as a pulley rack to dry outdoor clothing.
We are in the process of applying for the Walkers Welcome Award for Granston Cottage. Everything required for this award is available at the cottage and the cottage is ideally situated for walking the coastal path and the inland countryside.
The following links may be useful in planning walking and cycling holiday as well as finding out about the local weather. There is an up-to-date Tide Timetable in each cottage as well as plenty of local information and guides.
