Spring is in the air and Easter is drawing closer. Last year we spent time in the cottages with two of our grandsons. We had such a busy week exploring and having fun. I hope this post gives you some ideas of things to do during your visit to our cottages.
- Circular walk. Starting point Parrog, Newport (car park). The walk had beautiful views of the coast and farm lands. A nice gentle walk with some opportunities to throw stones into the sea and look in rock pools for crabs (depends on the tides!) Spring flowers were out in full bloom and there were lambs to spot in the fields.
- Cooking with Grandma (and time to build lego and make some pictures).
- Visit to the Dyfed Shire Horse Farm (https://dyfed-shires.co.uk/). This is a great place to visit. There are the horses, ponies, donkeys, sheep, llamas, tractor rides, go-karts, crazy golf and even a lovely cafe if you need a rest and a bite to eat.
- Enjoying the gardens. At this time of year the tulips are in full bloom. It is great to sit and relax with a cuppa, looking at all the plants and enjoying the sunshine.

- A visit to Folly Farm (https://www.folly-farm.co.uk). This place keeps everyone entertained whatever the weather! We enjoyed the zoo animals, the old fashioned fun fair, the farm animals, digging in the sand and climbing in the outdoor playground.

- Easter egg hunt (no Easter should be without one!). We hid chocolate eggs for the children to find, then of course we had to help them eat them!

- Last, but certainly not least, a trip (or two, or three) to the beach! Nothing beats building sandcastles and playing football or cricket on the sands. One of our favourites is Newport Sands (has the added bonus of an ice cream shop).
I hope you enjoy your visit to Wales (maybe even this Easter!). Let us know what activities you enjoyed 🙂
